aiomics Award 2027 European research on responsible AI in medicine SHORT LISTING The aiomics Award 2027 recognises research on clinical AI: operational improvements and staff workload; physician–AI teaming; and benefits, harms and evaluation. Researchers at eligible European institutions can enter a journal paper first published from 1 July 2026, or an unpublished paper finally accepted within the eligible period. Its value depends on how clinicians assess the evidence, recognise limitations and use the results in the care of patients. The aiomics Award 2027 recognises research that helps them do this well. The first edition covers three themes: 1. Operational improvements and staff workload. 2. The physician’s role and collaboration with AI. 3. Benefits, harms and evaluation of clinical AI. The award is open to researchers at eligible European institutions, across disciplines, nationalities and career stages. A published paper qualifies if its first journal publication falls between 1 July 2026 and the deadline. An unpublished paper qualifies with final acceptance following peer review dated within that period. The journal must have a standard two-year Journal Impact Factor of at least 2.0 in the latest Clarivate Journal Citation Reports edition available on 1 September 2027. Two prizes are awarded across all themes: €1,000 and €500. Entry is free. Research showing limited benefit, additional work or harm is equally eligible. Five external jurors will assess scientific rigour, clinical relevance, human factors, transferability and transparency. The jury will be announced before applications open; aiomics has no vote.
